Position is responsible for all aspects of organizing, directing, planning and coaching the high school and junior high speech programs. The person is responsible for coaching students in skill development, strategies and techniques to prepare them for competition. Organize effective practices, have clear goals/vision and objectives for students to reach their potential. Work directly with the Activities Office for transportation, schedulding, etc. Motivate students to develop appreciation of Speech and help prepare students for life through the Why We Play program offered through the MSHSL. Must be directly involved with the schools to promote participation of both high school and middle school students. Must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and technique of speech. Must meet MN Statute for varsity head coaches and complete MSHSL coaching education requirements Past experience with coaching speech is desirable. Salary range is $3,520 to $4,406 and would be divided between the head coach and assistant. A free pass to all non-hockey school sports is also provided.
