Position Summary:
This role is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and cross-functional coordination of Hanwha Convergence USA's Remote Operations Center (ROC), Compliance, and Technical Operations functions. As a senior-level leader, the position will oversee operational performance, regulatory compliance, and technical efficiency across all O&M-related departments. This role serves as a central point of communication between executive leadership, field operations, and support functions to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of renewable energy assets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations leadership, energy compliance, and technical oversight, and will drive continuous improvement through data-informed decision making, organizational planning, and stakeholder collaboration. In addition to managing department heads, this position will be accountable for establishing long-term strategies, promoting interdepartmental alignment, and enhancing the company's overall operational resilience and regulatory readiness.

ROC Management – 40%
- Provide regular performance updates and activity reports on Renewable Operations Center (ROC) operations to executive leadership.
- Manage communications with clients and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and service excellence.
- Maintain close communication and a strong working relationship with other O&M Execution teams to ensure alignment between the ROC and field operations on operational priorities and site-level execution.
- Drive enhancements to ROC operational infrastructure, including organizational structure, shift planning, and workforce training initiatives.
- Define mid- to long-term strategic objectives and establish annual performance goals for ROC operations.
- Provide direct leadership and oversight to ROC managers and operational teams to ensure effective execution and continuous improvement.
Compliance Management – 25%
- Collaborate with the Compliance Manager to ensure systematic operation and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide compliance programs, including adherence to NERC/CIP and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Design and implement compliance training and awareness programs to cultivate a culture of accountability and regulatory excellence.
- Manage legislative and regulatory developments, ensuring timely alignment of internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance readiness.
- Lead investigations into potential compliance violations and oversee the development and execution of effective corrective action plans.
- Assess and enhance internal monitoring and audit processes to proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks.
Technical Operations Management – 25%
- Manage power plant operational performance at the corporate level and develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Establish effective communication channels and strengthen collaboration between the field operations team.
- Review and promote the adoption of the latest energy industry technologies and new O&M (Operations & Maintenance) innovations.
Strategy and Organizational Management & Other duties – 10%
- Build and maintain strong communication and collaboration frameworks across the three groups.
- Foster cross-functional communication and alignment with other departments, including Business Development, Strategy and Operations, to support unified decision-making and organizational goals.
- Design and implement mid- to long-term organizational strategies, including workforce planning and resource allocation.
- Provide guidance and development support to each Manager to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Handle urgent matters and execute requests from executive management and HQ promptly and efficiently.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field; equivalent technical experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in power generation, with at least 5 years focused on solar PV and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) operations, technical analysis, or O&M coordination.
- At least 3 years of management or leadership experience overseeing operational or technical teams.
- In-depth knowledge of NERC/CIP standards and demonstrated hands-on experience ensuring compliance with applicable regional and federal regulations.
- Familiarity with regional reliability organizations' policies, regulatory environments, and enforcement mechanisms (e.g., WECC, ERCOT, NERC).
- Strong background in implementing and overseeing physical and cybersecurity measures within operational control centers in alignment with CIP requirements.
- Capable of independently identifying and resolving complex operational and compliance issues with sound judgment and minimal supervision.
- Experience in leading or collaborating with cross-functional project teams and managing multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of SCADA systems, monitoring platforms, and data reporting tools used for renewable energy performance oversight and diagnostics.
- Ability to interpret SCADA and performance KPI data and translate large data sets into actionable operational insights.
- Experience with PV and BESS commissioning processes, operations, and performance optimization.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Proficiency in Excel and project management platforms; experience with compliance tracking tools and data reporting systems is strongly preferred.
- Self-driven and adaptable to fast-paced, evolving operational environments with multiple competing priorities.
- Preferred: Willingness to travel between 10 - 20%
- Working knowledge of industry standards, codes, and safety regulations (e.g., NERC CIP) is a plus.
- Proven experience performing or reviewing compliance studies and documentation for key NERC standards, including:
- PRC-004, PRC-005, PRC-019, PRC-024, PRC-025, PRC-027
CIP-002-5.1, CIP-003-6, CIP-004-6, CIP-005-5, CIP-006-6- System Operator Certification
- Solar and BESS operational experience
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (e.g., seated at a desk) for extended periods of time.
- Frequent operation of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through video conferencing.
