Job Title: Head of Quantitative Research

Location: New York, 5 days a week in office

Compensation: $700k - $1.5m (total compensation)

We're looking for a senior quantitative leader with deep expertise across alpha research, portfolio construction, or risk management to head our client's growing quant research team.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who can drive research strategy and mentor a team while maintaining close proximity to the investment process.

What You'll Do:

• Lead research initiatives across alpha generation, portfolio construction, and portfolio management
• Design and refine strategies including alpha capture, risk management, and hedging techniques
• Partner with Portfolio Managers and Engineers to bring models into production and improve PnL predictability
• Oversee ongoing research efforts around factor exposures, portfolio optimisation, and performance attribution
• Build and scale research infrastructure and mentor junior researchers

What We're Looking For:

• 10+ years of experience in quantitative research or portfolio management, ideally on the buy-side
• Strong track record in alpha research, signal development, or systematic portfolio construction
• Deep understanding of risk models, optimisation techniques, hedging strategies, and alpha capture frameworks
• Experience managing research teams or leading cross-functional quant initiatives
• Proficient in Python (or similar) with the ability to work in production research environments
• Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to research and implementation
