With a performance-based pricing model, our success is tied directly to theirs.About The RoleWe're hiring a Head of Product to lead the full Product and Growth strategy for our Renter pillar — a critical part of the business that spans user acquisition, engagement, and monetization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will manage both product teams and key growth functions (Technical SEO and Lifecycle Marketing).You'll be responsible for defining strategy, driving execution, and scaling impact — delivering both near-term results and long-term product differentiation. The ideal candidate is a high-output, hands-on product leader with deep B2C experience, strong commercial instincts, and fluency in AI-driven innovation.What You'll Do

  • Define and drive the product and growth strategy for the Renter business — from user acquisition and onboarding to engagement, retention, and monetization
  • Manage a team of 5–8+ direct reports across Product Management and Growth disciplines, with broader influence across cross-functional squads
  • Own and deliver business outcomes tied to renter volume, quality, and revenue — with a focus on impact, velocity, and compounding growth
  • Champion the use of AI and machine learning to enhance personalization, simplify decision-making, and create defensible product advantages.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Engineering, and Data to launch growth loops, conversion funnels, and feature experimentation that moves the needle
  • Foster a high-accountability, high-autonomy culture that prioritizes craft, customer insight, and rapid iteration
  • Serve as a key thought partner to the CEO on product prioritization, investment tradeoffs, and long-term innovation
What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of product leadership experience, including 5+ years managing PMs and cross-functional growth teams in B2C or marketplace businesses
  • Deep experience driving Growth outcomes—acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization.
  • Deep fluency in growth frameworks, product-led growth, experimentation, and compounding loops
  • Strong command of AI technologies, including how to apply LLMs, personalization, and ML to build differentiated user experiences.
  • Track record of tying product initiatives to business impact and P&L-level outcomes
  • Experience building and scaling high-performing, multidisciplinary teams — with a clear track record of hiring, coaching, and developing talent
  • Highly effective cross-functional collaborator — able to build trust and alignment with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Data, and the CEO)
  • Operates with clarity, urgency, and high standards, while balancing short-term business goals with long-term differentiation
  • Executive presence and strategic mindset with the ambition and capability to scale into a broader Head of Product role
Here's The Pay RangeAt Apartment List, we carefully consider a variety of factors to determine compensation for each position, including the role, level, and work. The US base salary range for this position is:
  • Zone 1: $249,000 - $302,000 TTC (including $212,000 - $257,000 base salary) + equity
  • Zone 2: $230,000 - $280,000 TTC (including $196,000 - $238,000 base salary) + equity
  • Zone 3: $212,000 - $257,000 TTC (including $180,000 - $218,000 base salary) + equity

This reflects the compensation target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Please note, the compensation details provided do not include benefits and perks that we offer.

We also rely on market indicators along with considering your work location, job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive for you. Apartment List will consider paying compensation near the higher of the range in exceptional circumstances, where candidates have the experience, credentials or expertise that would warrant such consideration. It is always our goal to hire exceptional talent and we would be happy to share more about compensation during the hiring process.
