Overview
We are currently seeking a Head of Product Management, Digital Solutions for our Lab Products & Services (LPS) business. In this position, you inspire internal and external stakeholders for new digital business opportunities from developing the strategic vision to developing key partnerships and execution of concepts. This role requires strategic portfolio management, decision-making and prioritization to ensure a strong focus on the selected few products which drive Sartorius growth and maintain our competitive edge in the market. A proven track record in product management, leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and growth are essential pre-requisites for this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the product strategy for LPS Digital Solutions in alignment with the company\'s goals, enforcing ruthless prioritization, timely data-driven decisions, and clear focus on winning products for Sartorius.
- Foster a culture of collaboration within LPS Digital Solutions, across LPS product management, and with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Development, IT, Corporate Research, Sales, Marketing) to maintain trusted relationships, build alignment, and drive execution to meet customer needs and achieve business objectives.
- Champion LPS Digital Solutions with senior leadership and other key stakeholders in LPS, Bioprocess Solutions Division, and Corporate Functions, regularly updating them on product strategy, trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Set and monitor KPIs to measure success and drive growth of LPS Digital Solutions, reviewing metrics (e.g., revenue, leads, opportunities, win rate, profitability, cost, customer satisfaction) to identify tactical actions with relevant partners and optimize performance.
- Hold PMs within LPS Digital Solutions and the supported hardware/consumable business areas accountable for the success of their product portfolios from cradle to grave, overseeing smooth product lifecycles and maintaining a high-performance mindset in the team.
- Conduct regular reviews of LPS Digital Solutions to ensure business impact and alignment with customer feedback and needs, leading product and process improvements and providing recommendations to stakeholders.
- Leverage customer workflow intel, market research, competitive landscape, industry trends, and emerging technologies; validate intel with direct customer interactions to identify unmet needs and opportunities for LPS Digital Solutions.
- Drive innovation by leading cross-functional teams to develop agile product concepts, rapidly deliver prototypes and MVPs, integrate external collaboration strategies, and act on early customer feedback.
- Champion a \ Sartorius first\ mindset in road-mapping to prioritize company-wide goals and ensure investments support long-lasting competitive advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in Life Sciences or computer sciences-related disciplines; MBA or PhD is preferred.
- 15+ years of professional experience in Life Sciences with a proven track record, including:
- 5+ years in a people-leadership role
- 5+ years in product management
- 10+ years managing software products and services in Agile environments
- 2+ years in a complex customer-facing role
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical industry, preferably in discovery & development with hands-on bioanalytical instrumentation
- Experience delivering large-scale, multi-disciplinary software projects across organizations
- Expertise in digital transformation trends: cloud, data analytics, AI, and customer data platforms
- Proven ability to identify market opportunities, define strategy, build business cases, and execute
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder alignment skills
- Innovative, results-driven, with strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and prioritization abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments; excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication
