Job Description :

beatBread is a fast-growing music financing platform transforming how artists access capital without giving up ownership.

As Head of Product, you will lead the development and execution of our product strategy, working together with the CEO and other members of the executive team to scale our impact in the music industry. This is a high-impact role for a builder who's excited to shape and drive the product from the ground up. You'll be the senior-most product leader and work closely with existing team members to define, design, and deliver beatBread's product roadmap. While we anticipate expanding the product organization over time, this role requires strong individual contribution and leadership in a lean environment today. You'll collaborate directly with music industry professionals - from artists and managers to label executives and fund managers - and act as the key link between user needs, business strategy, and technical execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shape and Refine Product Vision
  • Partner closely with the CEO to stress-test and co-develop the long-term product vision, using market insight and customer feedback to guide decisions.
  • Serve as a strategic counterpart to the CEO, helping refine and pressure-test the company's product direction.
  • Maintain a healthy tension with leadership to ensure that vision remains grounded, ambitious, and customer informed.
  • Own and Evolve the Product Roadmap
  • Translate strategic goals into a sequenced, measurable roadmap focused on customer value and business results.
  • Prioritize development efforts based on user needs, internal feedback, and technical feasibility.
  • Customer-Centered Product Design
  • Work directly with customers—including artists, managers, and music companies—to identify opportunities, validate concepts, and design high-impact products.
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally, ensuring product decisions reflect real-world needs.
  • Execution and Delivery
  • Partner with the development team to translate roadmap into shipped features, ensuring timelines and quality targets are met.
  • Ensure delivery is iterative, reliable, and informed by ongoing feedback loops and data analysis.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Represent product priorities and updates at cross-functional alignment meetings.
  • Act as a product advocate with internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity around product direction.
  • Future Team Development
  • Serve as the foundation of the product function and help define its future structure.
  • Over time, hire and mentor new product team members as the company's needs scale.
  • Industry Engagement
  • Leverage personal knowledge and network in the music industry to inform product development and identify new opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with music industry executives and stakeholders as a trusted partner.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated success leading product teams, preferably in a fintech, music-tech, or creator economy startup.
  • Deep understanding of product discovery, design thinking, agile methodologies, and product delivery best practices.
  • Clear track record of translating vision into roadmap and driving execution across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong presence and communication skills—comfortable engaging directly with senior music industry stakeholders and C-level executives.
  • Experience conducting user research and using data to drive product decisions.
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Miro, and product analytics platforms.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Music industry experience—whether at a label, publisher, DSP, or music-tech company—is strongly preferred.

Additional Information about the role

  • This role is a 5 days per week in-office position, based in St. George, Utah.
