Head of Mobile Engineering – hackajob (in collaboration with US Mobile) – New York City, on-site. Full-time role in Engineering - Frontend / Mobile development.

Base pay range: $250,000.00/yr - $325,000.00/yr. Your actual pay will be based on skills and experience.

As the Head of Mobile Engineering at US Mobile, you will lead our mobile development teams to create world-class, user-centric applications. You'll set the technical vision, scale our mobile platforms, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence. This role involves partnering with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to transform how people connect and communicate.

• Technical Strategy & Vision: Define and communicate the mobile engineering roadmap aligned with business goals; evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance user experience, performance, and scalability.
• Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing mobile engineering team; establish best practices for coding standards, testing, and deployment.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work with cross-functional partners to translate requirements into technical solutions; communicate plans, updates, and constraints to leadership.
• Architectural & Code Excellence: Oversee iOS and Android architecture with emphasis on security, stability, and scalability; provide hands-on technical guidance.
• Operational Efficiency & Delivery: Establish KPIs for velocity, code quality, and performance; optimize release cycles to deliver features swiftly without compromising quality.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends; champion experimentation and iterative product delivery.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 7+ years leading mobile engineering teams.
• Proven track record delivering high-quality iOS and Android apps at scale.
• Technical Skills: Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, Java, React Native, Flutter, and related mobile frameworks; strong knowledge of mobile architecture, performance, security, and release management; familiarity with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), and tooling.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and ability to influence across teams; strategic thinker; fosters positive, results-driven culture.
