Partnering with the PRS and Digital Risk Services business units, this person will be responsible for the creation and continuous evolution of the respective application roadmaps and strategies, ensuring IT solutions are fully aligned with the overall business's goals, key stakeholders and customer expectations.In partnership with the supporting IT cross-capability teams, they will use advanced technology to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions that maximize customer value. The Head of HSB PRS & Digital/GIIG will embrace standard methodologies, including agile, and place a high value on the various application development and support practices such as application performance efficiencies, process improvement, and test-driven development. The Head of HSB PRS & Digital/GIIG is keenly aware of the current and future technology direction of the industry and aligns strategies with those evolving landscapes.Your Job includes:Managing product teams associated with both the PRS and Digital Risk Services application portfolios (strategic and legacy applications)Apply performance management practices, including continuous conversations, and communicates performance to individuals to address issues. Actively identify training opportunities to grow individual and team capabilitiesWork with IT Security and Risk to ensure solutions implemented across the US are in security compliance, ensure identified vulnerabilities are addressed in a timely manner, and the currency of underlying software, operating systems, etc. are a part of solution road mapsWorking with both internal and external partners to provide solutions that promote and support the Business and IT strategy. Defining the solution in alignment with the business vision, strategy, roadmap and overall company goalsCollaborate across GSI IT teams of Solutions Architecture, Data and Project Management to ensure effective software delivery for all GSI development needsHandling incident escalations as part of the Overall Incident Management Process including being a member of the Emergency Change Review Approval teamProvide technical leadership and oversight into all major development projects within the entitySteer initiatives to harmonize and standardize the global IT Business Solutions model to provide a consistent approach to software development, dev/ops and implementation.Manage the overall financial budgets, forecasts and allocations for the respective application portfolioWork with IT Security and Risk to ensure solutions implemented across the US are in security compliance, ensure identified vulnerabilities are addressed in a timely manner, and the currency of underlying software, operating systems, etc. are a part of solution road mapsPartner with applicable Business divisions to align technology roadmaps supporting the business strategic direction.Engage and collaborate with GSI SR IT Management on overall GSI IT strategic directionWork with regional and global IT towers of Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure to ensure standardized tooling and processes are usedManage the sourcing activities for the designated area of software development including the review and development of RFP, RFQ and RFI packagesNegotiate terms and conditions and pricing for final purchase agreements and contractsEnsure that the designs of application solutions are secure and will fit within the patterns set by Enterprise ArchitectureHelp to assure that Munich Re is in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulationsEducation and ExperienceBachelors in Computer Science or equivalent10+ years of experience in building/leading/developing/working in software developmentsetting7+ years of experience working within the insurance industryUnderstanding of product modelsStrong working experience in Microsoft Dynamics software platformWorking experience in Appian, Microsoft PowerApps or comparable process orchestration, automation, and intelligence toolsetsWorking experience using Webservices, SOA, Plug-ins, Messaging, API, and associated technologiesExperience with API management and developmentExposure to Cloud Infrastructure and ServicesExperience with large scale transformation projectsExperience in managing a team of onsite and remote (Global) resources requiredHighly result oriented and structuredVery good command of English, both spoken and writtenKnowledge and SkillsCustomer focus with demonstrated customer engagement skills (relationship/team builder)Consulting and collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharingStrong problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detailWorks well within a collaborative team settingExcellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and simplify complex concepts and issuesAbility to work in a global, demanding environment, dealing with ambiguityAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectivelyProviding leadership in the development of strategy and execution of roadmapAbility to provide guidance and leadership for effective and successful delivery of technology-enabled applications, products, and servicesStrong knowledge of tools, methodologies, and procedures in an agile frameworkAt Munich Re US, we see Diversity and Inclusion as a solution to the challenges and opportunities all around us.
