Position: Head Investment Compliance Monitoring
Location: Zurich
Within our Risk Control division, you will be part of an experienced and professional team whose responsibilities are ensuring compliance of the discretionary and advisory portfolios with all relevant restrictions and support various internal stakeholders on related topics and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of experienced professionals in charge of the daily monitoring of all supervised portfolios.
- Oversee system coding, maintenance, and enhancements of our platforms.
- Conduct breach case investigations, classification (active or passive), and impact calculations (profit & loss) as required. Notify, report, and escalate breaches to portfolio management, Compliance, and management companies. Follow up on cases and provide periodical reporting to main stakeholders within the company.
- Monitor funds across LUX UCITS, CH, DE, AT, IT, and US regulatory environments.
- Manage Swiss and international institutional discretionary mandates (e.g., BVG/BVV2).
- Handle discretionary and advisory Private Client mandates (SBVg).
- Ensure compliance with global exposure, concentration, liquidity, counterparty, and collateral limits.
- Improve and enhance monitoring processes.
- Code, develop, and maintain risk control and investment guideline monitoring systems (Charles River, Avaloq) and processes. Automate and centralize investment guideline monitoring processes in collaboration with IT Development.
- Conduct feasibility analysis, define, and sign off on client and internal investment guidelines with process owners and other stakeholders.
- Parametrize and maintain client, prospectus, legal, and/or regulatory restrictions as applicable by contract, prospectus, or domicile.
- Test and validate investment guideline calculation algorithms during user acceptance phases.
- Enhance guideline monitoring applications (Charles River, Fund Designer) and analysis tools and reporting applications (Tableau, internal solutions).
- Specify projects and enhancements to streamline guideline monitoring processes, applications, and tools.
- Monitor investment guidelines across diverse regulatory environments and implement coding for mandates and funds in different monitoring systems, alongside familiarity with various risk measurement methodologies.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of financial products and instruments, and expertise in maintaining and enhancing investment restriction systems, notably Charles River and Avaloq and monitoring modules.
- Demonstrate general IT affinity and programming skills (e.g., Access, VBA).
- Be a structured and independent team player with high quality standards.
- Have experience in leading professional monitoring teams.
- Fluency in English and German; knowledge of French or Italian is an advantage.
