Role Overview

We are seeking outstanding technology leaders to join our Solution Architect organization. The role involves ensuring that our product (TiDB) and solutions meet the needs of our diverse customers across SaaS and other ICP segments. The PingCAP Solution Architects team researches the most advantageous business and technical scenarios for TiDB in different global markets, devises effective go-to-market strategies, and provides these solutions to our business teams worldwide. The team comprises skilled software architects, database instructors, and industry experts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead support for business operations across North America, EMEA, APAC, and Japan, focusing on the new economy industry, ensuring the achievement of relevant business metrics, and increasing the success rate of Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives.
  • Gain market insights into global new economy industry segments, understand their business scenarios, track industry trends in data technology, develop scenario-based solutions, and facilitate product entry and ecosystem development in various industries.
  • Advise and guide customers on architecture, patterns, and strategies to optimize the use of TiDB, utilizing efficient tooling and interactive user journeys.
  • Collaborate with cloud vendors worldwide to develop trends in data technology, creating high-quality joint content and solutions.
  • Establish industry influence through internal and external technology sharing, promoting distributed database technology, data architecture, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate strong solutions innovation, with experience working with major clients and leading architecture teams.

    • Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience, with a Master's degree in at least one database technology stack, and in-depth research and content output in this area; broad knowledge of data technology including RDBMS, distributed systems, and cloud data tech.
  • Diverse industry and technological expertise, with a comprehensive understanding of industry scenarios, SaaS business models, and data architecture.
  • Proficiency in scenario abstraction, data architecture alignment, and experience in industry influence through presentations, evangelism, and enabling field teams.
  • Proven expertise in selling databases and deploying applications with cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a strong curiosity and continuous learning mindset in databases, cloud computing, big data, and emerging technologies.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing technical, enterprise customer-facing teams.

    • Compensation and Benefits

    The annual base salary range for U.S. candidates is USD $160,000 to $220,000, with different levels based on geographic zones. Additional benefits include bonuses, equity, health insurance, flexible vacation, paid holidays, and parental leave. Salaries outside the U.S. will vary according to local standards.
