Head of Content

As the Head of Content, you will play a leading role in developing the content, programming, and brand strategies to bring Viam stories to life. You ll build a compelling and business-aligned content strategy in collaboration with stakeholders, iterate for impact, and create content that drives community and customer engagement building meaningful connections with Viam.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will be a strategic leader on the marketing team and collaborate closely with our Head of Growth and Head of Developer Relations.

This is a hybrid opportunity (3-4 days a week in our NYC office located at 1900 Broadway).

In this role, you will:

• Develop content and storytelling strategies that drive business, enhance reputation, and create meaningful connections with our brand, customers, and community
• Lead editorial calendar(s), content and delivery to support major launches and company moments, including but not limited to: industry thought leadership, developer campaigns, B2B customer storytelling, tentpole activations, media communications, and industry messaging
• Drive the blog content strategy, creation, and optimization for business impact
• Launch measurable content experiments aligned to priority business outcomes
• Define and champion key pillars, personas, and narratives, helping draw connections for the team between technical content, customer-centric value propositions, and broader storytelling
• Analyze content performance metrics, and use data and insights to inform and optimize content and channel strategies
• Provide strategic recommendations for team expansion and scalability initiatives, including working with freelancers and agencies
• Collaborate closely with our Head of Growth and Head of Developer Relations, as well as broader stakeholders across product, sales, and engineering
• Review and establish a consistent tone/voice on Viam properties while giving flexibility to allow personal voice and character of content creators and subject experts to come through

We are looking for someone who:

• Has 10+ years of content marketing experience, building and scaling content marketing strategies in a high-growth, in-house environment, ideally SaaS/Tech.
• Gets excited to craft and guide storylines to drive technical community and customer engagement
• Has experience with different media formats (podcast, short form and long form video, and/or running a creative studio)
• Presents information in a clear, concise and engaging manner - verbal and written
• Strong project management and production management skills
• Can move seamlessly between strategy and execution
• Enjoys cross-functional collaboration, working with subject matter experts, and leading and mentoring teammates

The starting salary for this role is between $150,000-190,000/year. Your exact offer will vary based on a number of factors including experience level, skillset, market location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced, or more senior, than this job description as posted. In these situations, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.
