Job Description :

The Head of Small Lower Middle Commercial Insurance Technology will work closely with the Commercial Insurance CIO to define a technology strategy and related execution plans to support multiple transformation programs in Small Lower Middle Commercial Insurance (SLM CI).

The Head of Small Lower Middle Commercial Insurance Technology will also be part of the Commercial Insurance Technology and broader North America Technology leadership team. They will be responsible for managing all Information Technology-related projects and activities (change, run, risk, and budget management) for the SLM CI-specific portfolio of programs and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Engagement - Work closely with business and Commercial Insurance stakeholders to build alignment, define technology strategy, roadmaps, and execution plans. Communicate periodically, negotiate success, report progress, and manage risks and issues.
  • Program Management - Manage multiple concurrent business transformation and technology programs and projects. Ensure delivery on time, within budget, meeting expectations and quality standards. Raise and manage issues and risks promptly, adhering to Chubb Project management standards.
  • Software Engineering - Oversee development of multiple applications, adhering to Chubb's architectural standards and development frameworks (agile and waterfall).
  • Service and Risk Management - Manage and report on service levels for various systems. Handle ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management), Information Security (vulnerability management), and risk management processes.
  • Team Leadership - Lead and motivate diverse, distributed teams within Chubb and partners. Own talent acquisition and retention for the Operations and Commercial Insurance technology teams.

    • Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement a technology strategy aligned with Chubb's business goals.
    • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

    Integration and Collaboration:

    • Work with other technology leaders to integrate Claims platforms with existing systems and third-party platforms.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless operation and alignment with business objectives.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Engage with senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on technology strategy.
    • Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure standards and value delivery.

    Influence and Negotiation:

    • Use various approaches to generate solutions, seeking expert advice for negotiations.
    • Avoid conflicts across organizations and with senior stakeholders.

    Operational Efficiency and Results Orientation:

    • Improve technology management and development processes for efficiency.
    • Develop metrics, KPIs, and OKRs to measure success.

    Talent Development:

    • Build and lead a high-performing team with mentorship and development opportunities.
