Head of Business Development – Institutional Clients & Consulting Firms
New York, NY | Hybrid (3 days/week in office)
A rapidly expanding firm in the expert insights and knowledge services sector is seeking a seasoned Head of Business Development to lead its institutional sales function across North America and EMEA.
This is a senior leadership role requiring a strategic, hands-on executive who can drive revenue growth while managing and mentoring a high-performing team. The successful candidate will bring deep experience selling into financial institutions and consulting firms, and a proven ability to lead in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute the firm's business development strategy across institutional and consulting clients
- Manage a team of 2-6 sales professionals, providing leadership, coaching, and performance oversight
- Cultivate and expand relationships with private equity firms, hedge funds, asset managers, and global consultancies
- Drive new business acquisition and long-term client retention
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 15 years of experience in business development, sales leadership, or client relationship management
- Demonstrated success selling B2B services or subscription-based information platforms to institutional clients
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strategic mindset with a track record of driving growth and innovation
