ScopeThe Vice President, Internal Audit (Head of Audit) is a senior management position reporting to the Audit Committee and the CFO. The role involves managing the development and execution of a risk-based audit plan covering operational, financial, regulatory risks, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead all facets of the Internal Audit function, including planning, risk assessment, resource management, and reporting.
• Provide assurance to the Audit Committee and management on governance, risk, and controls. Communicate emerging issues timely.
• Develop and execute a risk-oriented audit plan, ensuring control effectiveness, data integrity, asset safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate audit findings, collaborate with management on solutions, and monitor unresolved issues.
• Build a high-performing team, allocate resources effectively, and oversee audit execution from planning to reporting.
• Foster partnerships with stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor, aligning audit efforts with organizational goals.
• Manage external audit resources and co-sourced projects, ensuring deficiencies are addressed.
• Enhance audit standards and techniques, including data analytics and AI, for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

Skills, Qualifications & Compensation

• Bachelor's degree required.
• CPA, CIA, CISA or similar credentials, with 10+ years in Internal Audit within Insurance or Financial Services.
• Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, standards, tools, and processes, with ability to perform gap analyses and develop training.
• Experience with technology and automation tools for audit testing and data analytics; capable of drafting executive-level documents.
• Life/Annuity experience preferred. Compensation generally in the $375,000 - $400,000 range.
