Nashville Rowing is a vibrant and growing rowing club located in the heart of Music City. We are committed to fostering a love for rowing, building a sense of community, and helping athletes of all levels achieve excellence on and off the water. With programs for juniors, masters, para-athletes and veterans, we are dedicated to expanding rowing and other recreational opportunities in Nashville.
Position Overview:
Nashville Rowing Club runs programs for youth and masters under the supervision and guidance of the Head Coaches and Director of Operations. The Head Master's Coach supports the coaching of the teams on and off the water. This individual will likely be working closely with the Competitive & development groups.
A strong candidate has at least five years of rowing experience (high school, club, or collegiate), has coached rowing for at least two years, is comfortable driving launch without supervision, and has experience working with a variety of populations.
Key Responsibilities:
-design and implement comprehensive weekly training plans
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5 years of rowing experience (high school, club or collegiate) and a demonstrated passion for the sport
-At least 2 years of experience coaching rowing (youth, masters, or collegiate rowing); experience coaching sculling is a plus
-At least a Level 1 USRowing Coaching Certification preferred
-Experience driving a motor launch on an active waterway without supervision; TN Boating License preferred
-Availability to work evenings and Saturday mornings
-Ability to support an inclusive and equitable experience for all members and staff
-Ability to communicate directly as well as provide and receive candid feedback
-Proactive problem-solving skills and strong organizational skills
-Understanding of boathouse operations and rowing equipment
Coaches must become certified in First Aid/CPR, SafeSport, TN safe boating and the ability to drive a coaching launch. As of January 2025, all coaches must maintain at least a Level 1 USR Coaching Certification.
