Job Summary

Knowledge of rules and regulations of sport; successful coaching experience and/or active participation in sport preferred; ability to meet with team each day M-TH and conduct practices or manage meets. Knowledge of care and prevention of sports injuries, coaching techniques and child adolescent psychology; demonstrated ability to work in a multi-ethnic setting; demonstrated ability to instill teamwork, commitment and discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with the wrestling team each day Monday through Thursday and conduct practices or manage meets as assigned.
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director to create a vision for the program and effectively communicate with players, parents, and other coaches.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
  • Utilize the on-campus wrestling practice room and manage meets in the school gymnasium.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Hard worker willing to invest time to build a program and provide a fun, engaging environment for students.
  • Ability to work alongside the Athletic Director to develop a program vision and communicate with players, parents, and coaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle administrative tasks in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
  • Ability to obtain NFHS coaching certification (online classes; some costs may apply).
  • Three letters of recommendation (within the last three years), a resume, and a letter of introduction must be attached to the EdJoin application.
  • Selected candidate must pass fingerprint clearance and provide current TB test results.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certification and Concussion certification preferred, but not required prior to employment.
  • On-campus wrestling practice facilities available; meets held in the school gymnasium.
