Head Baseball Coach/Admissions RecruiterCATEGORY/LEVEL: PSS/6(Full-time, 12-month position)BASIC FUNCTION: Administer all aspects of a competitive Baseball Program (recruit, planpractices, fundraise, supervise players, coordinate games). Provide admissionscounseling for prospective students and their parents through travel, campusvisits, academic/career advising and provide initial and follow-upcommunication through various channels. Organize and conduct special events for prospective, incoming new orreturning students and their families. STARTDATE: ASAP SALARY AND BENEFITS: Startingsalary of $38,700 to $46,600 based on experience. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one year of college coaching experience and at least one year of experience in recruitment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with people at all levels, both internal and external to the institution. Excellent time management and organizational skills. This position will include evening work, weekend responsibilities, and travel in state and out of state. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: College-level head coaching preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:- Coaching/Athletics•Create and maintain a program culture that places an emphasis on academic achievement and a commitment to learner success. Collaborate with campus departments and personnel to maximize efforts for student academic support and services.•Adhere to all sports rules, procedures, and guidelines established by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) constitution and bylaws.•Collaborate with the Director of Athletics on all topics related to student-athlete Initial and Continuing Eligibility guidelines established by the NJCAA.•Collaborate with administration to forecast annual budgetary needs for the program; monitor expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner that align with institutional policies and processes.•Responsible for program operational processes, including, but not limited to, any team travel functions, training sessions, competitions, recruitment, and special events.•In collaboration with the Director of Athletics, develop and maintain a consistent fundraising effort and assist with departmental fundraising events and objectives.•Design and administer an in-season and off-season training and development program that maximizes efforts and output in alignment with NJCAA guidelines.•Responsible for the recruitment and training of team support personnel.•Responsible for developing and maintaining a recruitment, development, and retention strategy that produces consistency with regard to competition outcome goals and roster size expectations.•Effectively contribute to institutional core values by focusing on educational excellence, learner success, community engagement, continuous improvement, and collaborative leadership.•Monitor academic progress of student athletes by regularly checking in, assessing their performance, and providing feedback and support.•Provide support to the Athletic Department in various capacities (game management, compliance, fundraising, facility management for your sport, camps, home event preparation).- Admissions•Provide admissions counseling and enrollment advising for prospective students and their parents, including the college admission process, financial aid and scholarships.•Conduct visits to high schools and career and college fairs as assigned.•Provide follow-up communication with prospective and incoming new and returning students, including written correspondence/print materials, phone contacts, and email in coordination with the communication plan and CRM.•Support campus events and group tours for middle, high school age and adult students.•Complete assigned projects with minimum supervision ensuring all deadlines are met.•Represent NIACC positively at high schools, promotional events, and in the community.•Establish positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and other key influencers.•Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
