Position Title: HBPE SupervisorLocation: Marshall Health Network (MHN) Department: Revenue Cycle Reports To: Patient Access Manager Supervises: SMMC and CHH Eligibility Teams Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role Marshall Health Network (MHN) is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven HBPE Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Hospital-Based Presumptive Eligibility (HBPE) department. This role ensures that eligible patients across West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio are accurately and timely screened for presumptive Medicaid coverage, and that those who do not qualify receive financial assistance support. This is a vital leadership role that supports our goal of connecting patients to the resources they need while maximizing reimbursement opportunities for the network. Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support presumptive eligibility staff by organizing, assigning, and monitoring work
  • Ensure PE team compliance with state, federal, and MHN policies and regulations
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing feedback to team members
  • Maintain certification of new hires in presumptive eligibility (PE) processes
  • Analyze payer mix and patient volumes to identify PE opportunities
  • Oversee newborn PE eligibility screenings and follow-up
  • Coordinate patient enrollment with local DHHR offices
  • Collaborate with case management, nursing, and registration to ensure seamless workflows
  • Generate and present productivity and financial reports to the VP of Revenue Cycle
  • Complete staff evaluations and participate in hiring/training efforts
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of PE applications and documentation
  • Monitor department performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
QualificationsEducation:
  • Associate's Degree (Junior College/Technical School) required
Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related healthcare or business setting
  • Minimum of 2 years in patient accounts, registration, or business management
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in computer systems and applications; must type at least 55 WPM
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to support departmental needs
