Hardware Engineer - Persistent Systems LLC in : Job Details

Persistent Systems is seeking a talented Hardware Engineer with extensive experience in circuit design for battery-powered and high-speed (GHz) digital devices. The role involves designing, developing, and prototyping electronic assemblies for next-generation products and upgrades to existing ones. Responsibilities include documentation, testing, and providing technical support to manufacturing.

Position Responsibilities

• Define system and circuit-level requirements
• Design circuits, perform analysis/simulations, and create schematics/BOMs
• Identify components and equipment supporting the product design process
• Perform PCB stack-up design, layout, routing, and generate manufacturing files for prototypes
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering to meet packaging and thermal constraints
• Establish hardware and software test environments
• Develop prototypes and conduct DVT to verify system performance
• Provide technical leadership for subcontractor projects
• Ensure timely delivery within performance, cost, and reliability targets
• Support manufacturing with technical expertise

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in digital and analog circuit design
• Knowledge of high-speed hardware design methods
• Understanding of signal integrity considerations
• Experience with data buses such as SPI, I2C, LAN, USB, PCIe
• Skills in error analysis and power management design
• Ability to obtain security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Embedded Firmware Development (Assembly, C, C++)
• Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and design
• Switching mode power supply design knowledge
• Military qualification testing familiarity
• Strong analytical and multitasking skills
