Piper Companies is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to work on-site in Morrisville, NC Monday through Friday . The ideal Hardware Design Engineer has extensive experience in digital board design for telecommunications products, focusing on PCB-level design and system integration.Responsibilities of the Hardware Design Engineer:
- Lead the digital board design and development of hardware components and systems, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and cost objectives.
- Participate in all stages of hardware development, from definition and design to qualification and product release.
- Oversee the entire board processing and manufacturing lifecycle, from prototyping to mass production.
- Use Cadence Concept, Allegro, and Orcad for schematic capture.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of hardware designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications of the Hardware Design Engineer:
- 5+ years' experience in digital board design and system-level development, with a focus on telecommunications equipment.
- Familiarity with Telecom principles and standards, embedded processor systems, and real-time computing.
- Experience with TDM, POTS, ATM, T1/E1, SONET, NEBS.
- Proficiency with test and debug tools such as telecom traffic generators, logic analyzers, signal analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
Compensation for the Hardware Design Engineer:
- Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 annually.
