A Day in the Life:The Group Volunteer Coordinator will oversee, schedule, and manage volunteer group events ensuring smooth coordination and execution of tasks for groups of 10-100 volunteers. The coordinator will lead and work alongside volunteers to execute events and activities including: walking large dogs, making treats, cleaning kennels, laundry, and dishwashing. The coordinator must be able to safely handle large dogs and walk them to and from kennels during events, spend consecutive hours standing, and be outside with exposure to heat and cold. Job Requirements:High school diploma or GED required.Bachelor's degree preferred. One to three years of demonstrated experience organizing events.Experience teaching, working with volunteers and/or organizing community activities is Experience with project management including planning, coordination, and supervision preferred.Must possess excellent communication skills and ability to develop and maintain interpersonal rapport with volunteers and employees. Must be motivated and self-directed to achieve participant satisfaction and revenue goals.Other:Regular attendance, punctuality and access to reliable transportation required. The Volunteer Coordinator must have the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.Coordinator must be able to pass a background check and possess an acceptable driving record to be registered as an AHS approved driver. Physical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors and be exposed to heat and cold temperatures and participate in physical tasks (walking dogs, cleaning kennels, etc.) There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes, wet floors, and animal noises, odors and dander. Many times shifts will be spent outdoors during events at various venues around the Valley.
