About the Company: Octave is a modern behavioral health practice creating a new standard for care delivery that's both high-quality and accessible. With in-person and virtual clinics in multiple states, the company offers evidence-based individual, couples, and family therapy, while pioneering relationships with payers to make care more affordable through insurance. By raising the bar on how care is delivered and how providers are supported, we are building a sustainable system that values equity, affordability, and effectiveness.

About the Role: Octave is seeking to partner with group practices located in Albany, Schenectady, or Troy NY, interested in providing high-quality behavioral health care both in-person and remotely. We invite group practice owners to collaborate with us in building a diverse clinical team committed to client-centered therapy within a dynamic and evolving environment.

As part of Octave Clinicians, you'll be supported by a team dedicated to collaboration and client-centered care. We value strong clinical thinking grounded in evidence-based practices, ensuring tailored mental health treatment plans. You'll provide therapy via video sessions for adult clients experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues, using short-term, evidence-based therapies.

Providers in your group must hold a master's or doctoral license in New York and have expertise in evidence-based therapies like CBT or DBT, along with a commitment to culturally responsive care. (It's okay if not all are fully licensed; we will work with those who are fully licensed.)

In-person therapy sessions are now available for providers and clients, allowing a more personalized approach, increased rates, and expanded client capacity. You must have a commercial clinical space to see clients through Octave, as we do not provide office space in New York. Sessions can be conducted from your home or commercial office space.

Your practice is a good fit if you are:

  • Passionate about expanding access to high-quality mental health care.
  • Skilled at providing short-term, evidence-based therapies to diverse adult clients.
  • Adept at building and maintaining strong therapeutic alliances.
  • Willing to use standardized measures to deliver feedback-informed care.
  • Committed to culturally responsive and competent care.
  • Open to learning from colleagues and clients.
  • Thrives in a culture of feedback and transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Current license and based in New York.
  • At least 2 fully licensed clinicians managing caseloads within the group.
  • Owns an office space and willing to provide in-person services.
  • Some payor relationships may exclude you from employment.
  • Master's Degree or higher from an accredited school in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related fields.
  • Licensed and in good standing with your licensing board.
  • Minimum 1-year post-license clinical experience.
  • Preferred: 2+ years in areas like CBT for depression/anxiety, DBT, Unified Protocol, CPT, or PE for trauma.
  • Preferred if working with Cigna & Aetna clients.

Company Values:

  • Empathy and kindness in all interactions.
  • Challenging the status quo for better mental health access.
  • Active participation and sharing expertise.
  • Partnership and collaboration.
  • Maintaining quality at scale.
  • Iterative progress and continuous improvement.
