I. JOB SUMMARY
Model ADEC's core values in daily work and interactions, including with clients, ADEC team members, stakeholders and the community. Broad responsibilities include providing leadership and oversight of the Residential Program to meet ADEC's mission, ensuring excellent services for clients and stakeholders, managing to ADEC's double bottom line of mission impact and financial performance, ensuring ADEC is compliant with federal and state licensure, certification and accreditation regulations, The Residential Director of Group Homes reports directly to the Chief Programming Officer and has direct supervision of assigned Group Home Managers, QIDP's, and Group Home Administrative team members. The Director of Group Homes is a member of ADEC's Program/Service Leadership Team.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Drive initiatives and provide services that meet ADEC's mission. Identify goals and cultivate an environment that leads to the best outcomes for clients through person-centered care. Ensure clients grow and thrive as they live, work and engage as valued members of the community.
- Assure compliance with all state, federal, and ADEC policies, regulations and standards, including State Board of Health and Life Safety. Assure all required accreditations and credentials are maintained.
- Drive initiatives that will help maintain group homes sustainability. Stay aware of federal and state trends for the group home model. Lead the field by pursuing excellence in all programs and hold the residential team accountable for high quality, consistent results, highly trained staff, positive customer experience and continuous improvement.
- Lead the Residential team to be a leading nonprofit employer whose talented team members are committed to excellence in serving clients and each other. Cultivate a culture that excels in communication and collaboration and is driven by ADEC's core values. Provide opportunities for professional development, feedback, support and recognition.
- Supervise assigned group home managers, QIDPS, and assigned administrative staff. Provide leadership into hiring, initial and ongoing training (including Relias), scheduling and setting work hours, performance and annual evaluations, resolution of staff concerns, discipline and discharge, and promotional decisions for the residential programs.
- Work directly with managers to enhance on-boarding, retention and employee engagement. Assist managers to meet ADEC's fiscal financial budget.
- Work directly with QIDP's to ensure clients' PCISP's meet ADEC quality standards, represent clients' needs and wants, and meet federal and state guidelines including State Board of Health and Life Safety.
- Create a collaborative team approach with group home managers, DSPs and nursing that fulfills ADEC's mission and models ADEC's core values.
- Implement outcome measurements for Residential Program. Measure results throughout the year, reporting on progress to Chief Programming Officer, focusing on staff retention and training.
- Collaborate with CPO and CFO to develop fiscal year group home budget. Manage finances and resources to meet ADEC's double bottom line of mission impact and financial performance. Assist managers in requesting needed improvements or enhancements to their homes ensuring they have what is needed to meet Life Safety surveys and quality services.
- Coordinate various aspects of programming and administration, such as on-call coverage, serving as back up to on call for residential operations 24 hours per day and providing coverage for Group Homes Managers in their absence.
- Responsible for leading the team in weekly risk management and on-call review meetings, regular staff meetings, and development and implementation of residential meetings to improve communication, consistency and professional development.
- Maintain, follow, and enforce cleaning and disease prevention policies as set forth by ADEC, under the guidance from the Center for Disease Control and local Health Department, to mitigate the risk of spreading contagious diseases. PPE will be worn as required and social distancing followed as required.

III. JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services field. MSW preferred.
- Previous Director experience within a group home model preferred. Must be aware of ICF regulations and have significant experience with the IDD population.
- Must exhibit leadership skills to include strategic thinking, collaborative team-building, problem solving, critical thinking, innovative development, effective communication, continuous improvement, quality assurance, customer service, and organizational skills. Must possess administrative ability and exhibit management skills in areas of budget preparation and analysis, public relations, staff supervision, program planning and evaluation.
- Local and distance travel required. If driving own vehicle, must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and a good driving record.
- Successful completion of all required training both upon hire and annually required per ADEC, CARF and other regulatory agencies. This includes agency training and client specific training.
