Performs snow/ice removal duties. Work schedule including days and hours are subject to change depending on the needs of the university and the Facilities Management Operations & Maintenance Department. This position is mission critical .Primary Responsibilities
- Pick up litter and empty outdoor trash receptacles.
- Turf maintenance. Snow and ice removal.
- Road installation repair and maintenance. Assist in concrete installation and repair.
- Maintain and install signage for roads and campus as needed.
- Response to emergency situations as necessary during and after normal work hours.
- Maintain and repair all Roads & Grounds equipment.
- Assist the Operations & Maintenance department, the campus and the community with issues related to the outdoor environment.
- Consistently communicate updates with supervisor and other team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Possess the ability to: perform medium heavy to maximum physical exertion on a regular basis;
- Lift and carry bulky objects weighing 50 lbs or more
- Work in extreme weather conditions (i.e. heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, etc.)
- Autonomously operate all related equipment including, but not limited to,
- dump trucks
- tractors
- loaders
- mowers (both riding and push)
- seeders
- gators
- snow plows
- chainsaws
- pruning tools
- various types of hand tools
- Requires reliable transportation and ability to respond and work as needed during snow and other emergencies.
- Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and understanding of safety requirements.
- Communicate using a 2 way radio system.
- Required to work independently on a regular basis.
