Job Description

Performing a variety of maintenance task in association with keeping the hospital grounds in a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing condition. Keeps roadways and sidewalks free of snow and ice build-up. Assists in maintenance and repair a variety of non-clinical electrical/mechanical equipment.

Job Responsibility

• • Uses equipment to sweep walks, driveways and entrances daily to keeps these areas clean and safe.Orders materials and supplies as required through the Lead Groundskeeper.
• • Periodically mows lawn and waters trees, shrubs, grass, etc.
• • As required, periodically seeds, weeds, cultivate and trim edges of planted areas.
• • Removes snow and ice from driveways, walkways and entrances to the hospital.Uses salt and chemical melting agents as required.
• • Keeps all parking areas clean and free of debris, snow, ice and rubbish.Empties all trashcans daily.
• • Maintains, lubricates and keeps clean all grounds keeping equipment and securely and safely stores all items.
• • Performs necessary daily cleaning of Loading Dock and compactor areas to maintain sanitary conditions.

• Performs related duties as required.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time

• Must be able to life and move heavy materials and equipment weighting up to approximately 100lbs

• Must have acceptable corrected visual acuity.

Job Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Educational background in landscaping, gardening or botany, preferred.

• Minimum of three (3) years maintaining lawns, shrubbery, planted areas grounds, including seeding, tree pruning, sodding, snow removal, general exterior cleaning, ice removal and other operations relating to safe exterior access to the facility and/or related areas, required.

• Valid Driver's License, required.

• Read, write and speak English to understand and interpret written and verbal instructions.

The salary range for this position is $24.96-$27.12/hour
