Title: Groundskeeper State Role Title:Trades Technician IV Hiring Range: $36,000 Pay Band: 1 Agency: Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Location:CSC General Agency Website:jyfmuseums.org Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties The groundskeeper position at JYF is responsible for providing the upkeep of the grounds at Jamestown Settlement, American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and the Phillip G. Emerson Central Support Complex, to include but not limited to performing manual duties such as mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, leaf and snow removal. Using PPE and following industry best safety practices, regulations and guidelines, this position will ensure the safe and responsible use of related equipment, including general maintenance and cleaning. Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to track and accomplish work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Efficient communication, to include: written, oral and active listening skills.
- Experience operating various types of landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow and enforce established safety guidelines / procedures.
- Commitment to providing strong customer service to both staff and guests.
- Ability to work both independently and has part of a team.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs (With proper training)
Additional Considerations
- Previous experience working in a similar role.
- Certifications for horticulture, grounds maintenance, pesticides spray are not required but highly recommended.
- Knowledge of small engine repair and equipment maintenance is encouraged but not required.
- Commitment to furthering knowledge and education in the grounds maintenance filed through training.
