Supervision Exercised: NoneSupervision Received: Reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent or designated representative.General Purpose of the Position: The purpose of this position is to perform the care and cultivation of the City of Bradenton's Municipal Golf Course fairways, greens, tees, roughs, plantings, shrubs, hedges, and trees.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Use specialized equipment required to maintain a golf course property (i.e. Green and tee mowers and other mowers on an assigned basis).Skills and Physical Abilities Required:•Knowledge of the operational characteristics of specialized equipment used in golf course maintenance.•Knowledge of the use and operation of hand tools and techniques used in gardening.•Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions to completion.•Ability to operate equipment used with minimum job training.•Must be able to adhere to prescribed routines and practices and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.•Able to work independently and make discretionary decisions on problems encountered.•This position requires heavy manual labor with moderate to heavy lifting of up to seventy-five (75) pounds and constant bending, pulling, pushing, and riding of equipment. •Perform other related duties as assigned. Computer Equipment and Software Requirements: None.Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent. A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. At the discretion of the City Administrator or designee, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the job will be considered.Valid Florida Driver License is required or ability to obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida and ability to maintain a valid Florida driver's license.
