Grounds Worker - New York University : Job Details

SHIFT: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Primarily responsible for maintaining the appearance, health, safety, and effectiveness of grounds, waste management, and recycling programs on NYU owned, leased, and licensed properties. Qualifications Required Education:High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education:A certificate or diploma from a horticultural institution and/or some college education. Required Experience:3 years of work experience in grounds maintenance. New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Pesticide Technician License Class 3(a), for Ornamentals and Turf. Certified Citizen Pruner from Trees New York. Preferred Experience:NALP Certified Landscape Technician. NOFA Certified in Organic Land Care. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Good general knowledge of proper horticultural practices related to installation and maintenance of grounds including planting of herbaceous and woody plants, fertilization, pruning, and weed removal.
