Job Summary The Grounds Maintenance Worker creates a clean and healthy environment for students, faculty and staff for our Winona Campus. This position is responsible for all types of grounds keeping work, which includes mowing, weed whipping, trimming trees, mulching, removing snow, and maintaining the trails. Salary Range: $21.00-$23.00 per hour. Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Mowing lawns and trimming weeds using different types of equipment
• Maintaining trees, shrubbery, grass, and related plants
• Snow removal and winter maintenance of roads and sidewalks using truck, Bobcat, shovel, etc.
• Maintaining all grounds equipment and snow removal equipment for efficient and effective use
• Operating commercial lawn equipment, Bobcat, aerial lift, tractor, chain saw
• Supervise and work with student workers
• This position may not include all the work examples given, nor does the list include all duties that may be assigned

QualificationsExperience and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license

Essential Knowledge & Skills

• Have the skill and ability to operate all lawn mowing and snow removal equipment in an efficient manner
• Willing to work with and maintain campus sprinkler systems
• Be able to lift heavy equipment and tools, as well as bend, crouch, crawl, climb into spaces where equipment is located and work well at heights
• Be flexible to work off-scheduled hours as needed for snow removal
• Able to work in all weather conditions, extreme hot or cold
• Demonstrate professional interactions with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
• Observe safety guidelines at all times and follow work procedures established by the university

Physical Demands

• Medium work. Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
