Employment Type:Full time. Shift:Day Shift. Description:Prepares tissue, biopsies and skin for gross pathology. Gross pathology involves the dictation of overall description of specimen to include size, the cutting of the specimen, loading specimens into processor to prepare specimen blocks for specimen block cutting staining, and Pathology analysis. Registers patient/specimens, assigning unique numbers to eachspecimen, and orders tests, which are tied to charges. Processes surgical specimens by a frozen process to quickly prepare specimens for Pathologist analysis for patients during surgery. Education. Minimum: Associates Degree or equivalent. Preferred: Bachelors Degree with emphasis in the sciences such as biology and anatomy. Related Experience. Minimum: Perform analytical functions such as calculating, weighing and correlating of information Preferred: Tissue cutting skills, anatomical lab experience. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
