Grocery Store Clerk - Kroger : Job Details

Your Responsibilities:

• Process customer transactions quickly and accurately at the check lane using the Point of Sale system.
• Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, and coupons.
• Rotate merchandise according to code dating policies and ensure product quality for freshness.
• Promote a trusting and respectful environment among team members.
• Create a friendly atmosphere that makes customers feel important by answering product related questions.
• Stay informed about grocery specials and assist customers in finding items.
• Stock, order, label, and monitor inventory effectively.
• Report any discrepancies in pricing or product orders to store management.
• Adhere to cash management guidelines while controlling loss and following restricted sale item regulations.
• Ensure food safety regulations are followed, maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
• Identify any safety hazards and notify management of needed repairs or customer accidents.
• Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing conflicts calmly and reasonably.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications:

• Basic math skills.
• Ability to complete the cashier training program.
• Effective communication and reading skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Previous Experience:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Retail experience is a plus.
