Greenhouse Associate

At Zordi, we are building fully autonomous greenhouse systems using intelligent robots to grow delicious and sustainable food. We also grow and pack premium strawberries for sale in New York City and across the northeast. We are looking for multiple people to support production and R&D at our new high-tech greenhouse in Oakfield, NY.

This is a part-time, hourly position with occasional weekend and holiday shifts. It can grow into a full-time role in 30 days if we see a fit. You will play a crucial role helping us deliver our fresh produce to customers in New York; and also expand our R&D capabilities. Your work will primarily consist of: executing our harvesting and packing operations according to SOPs; assisting our Grower and Plant Scientist with crop care and data collection; performing occasional maintenance on greenhouse equipment.

Responsibilities

* Support harvest and packing operations, including packing fruit, and preparing packaging

* Collect harvest and other crop data

* Organize finished goods for storage and shipment

* Track task completion using proprietary software

* Help monitor, troubleshoot and maintain greenhouse equipment

* Maintain a safe, orderly and positive work environment

* Perform simple crop care, including pruning and scouting

Qualifications

* Strongly preferred: 2-3 years in a production agriculture environment or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g. restaurants, manufacturing, landscaping, or laboratory work)

* Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic

* Attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records and follow instructions

* Must be able to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team environment

* Must be able to lift 30+ lbs repeatedly

* Must be able to work while standing for extended periods of time

* Ability to understand food safety, worker safety, and standard operating procedures

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Salary: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
