Job Description :

STAIR is seeking a highly organized and creative professional with a passion for art and design to join our marketing team as a full-time Graphic Designer in Hudson, NY. The ideal candidate will bring both design expertise and strong commercial acumen to this dynamic role.

ABOUT STAIR

Established in 2001, STAIR Galleries is located in the heart of Hudson, New York's vibrant antiques and shopping district. As one of America's leading regional auction houses, our dedicated team of professionals provides exceptional expertise, exemplary client service, and a shared passion for art and antiques. STAIR is intentionally small, fostering flexibility and personalized service. Our creative business strategy allows us to sell single items or entire estates, emphasizing Selling Interesting Things, From Interesting People. We understand the rapidly changing auction market and respond to our clients' needs with integrity, balancing modern marketplace expectations with the charm of a traditional auction house.

Working at an auction house offers a dynamic, fulfilling career for those with a sincere appreciation for fine art, antiques, history, and culture. Your work will reach top collectors, curators, artists, and buyers, significantly impacting the auction experience. The excitement of auctions, anticipation of bidding wars, and satisfaction of successful sales create a unique and exhilarating atmosphere.

JOB SUMMARY

As the Graphic Designer for STAIR, you will be responsible for designing and developing all creative assets reflecting the STAIR brand, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives. You will collaborate closely with team members to bring the STAIR brand to life across our website, digital presence, advertising, new business proposals, and more. You will lead relationships with vendors and partners, such as publishers, printers, and fabricators, to execute special projects. You are adaptable and able to pivot to diverse design needs, collaborative and open to refinement, and excited to contribute to building a heritage brand while honing a point of view that shapes our identity and client experience. In an average week, you might collaborate with a specialist on a newsletter or feature story, design branding for a new tentpole auction, develop a print ad for a major publication, or assist with a marketing photoshoot for an upcoming consignment. You are a proactive doer with excellent communication and time management skills, driven by a passion for art history, fine art, antiques, and storytelling.
