Scope of Position:The Grant Specialist plays a vital role in securing resources that transform lives by supporting the full grant lifecycle - researching opportunities, drafting compelling proposals, preparing reports, and tracking deadlines and outcomes. This role will take the lead on funding requests under $15,000, while also providing essential administrative and writing support for larger grant efforts. Reporting to the Grants and Foundation Relations Manager, this position is ideal for a detail-oriented storyteller eager to grow in grant writing and fundraising. By helping expand our grant portfolio and strengthen funder relationships, the Grant Specialist will directly support programs that serve neighbors in need and contribute to taking our development efforts to the next level.Key Responsibilities: Research and identify potential grant funding opportunities that align with St. Vincent de Paul's strategic goals and initiatives, ensuring a steady pipeline of resources to support our diverse programs Assist in the preparation and submission of impactful grant applications, with a focus on securing critical funding under $15K. Your clear and persuasive narratives will directly help us secure the resources needed to provide immediate relief and long-term solutions for our neighbors. Support in reporting on awarded grants, including diligent tracking of funder requirements, deadlines, and outcomes. Your precision ensures accountability and strengthens relationships with our generous funders. Help manage and update the CRM and Grant Management Software, ensuring all funder information is accurately recorded and tracked. This meticulous work is foundational to our fundraising success. Collaborate seamlessly with internal teams (e.g., direct service staff, program managers) to gather necessary information for grant applications and reports, ensuring our stories of impact are accurately and compellingly told. Maintain and organize comprehensive grant records, ensuring compliance with both internal and external reporting standards. Assist in the creation and maintenance of essential grant-related documentation, including templates and tracking tools. Support the Grant Manager with research, proofreading, and administrative tasks related to larger proposals and institutional fundraising efforts.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, History, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience demonstrating strong foundational skills. Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives that combine storytelling and data. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Familiarity with grant writing, nonprofit fundraising, or foundation relations is a significant plus.
