DescriptionThe College Assistant Migrant Program (CAMP) located on the campus the Sac State is seeking to hire a graduate student assistant to provide a program support.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentThis is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.UEI does not allow students to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one account per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI student assistant position for a different UEI student assistant position should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week's noticeDepending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check: educational verification (i.e., degree, license, or official transcript), DMV clearance. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department.PrerequisitesMust be a Sac State student enrolled in at least six-semester units (undergrad) or four-semester units (graduate) students.Majors/Fields of Study Any MajorWork ScheduleFlexible workdays and work hours, Monday - Friday, between 8 AM - 5 PM. Final work schedule to be determined by supervisor. Additional Work ScheduleGraduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per workweek (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring & summer).Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree.Enrolled in a Graduate Program at Sacramento State.Outstanding organizational, writing, and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent written and verbal communication, professional etiquette, and interpersonal skills.Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other similar software.General work environment knowledge/abilities, including punctuality and dependability.Preferred Qualifications NADuties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain and promote a safe zone climate at all times.Serve as a project lead on a variety of assignments, including coordinating logistics, presentations, meetings, conferences, seminars, training, and other special projects.Help foster and facilitate collaboration with other campus and community groups.Meet with students one-on-one and provide academic and/or financial guidance.Present at meetings, events, and training.Research effective program implementation practices and funding opportunities.Write program proposals, newsletters, and e-mail invitations.Design effective PowerPoint presentations.Conduct student-based focus groups to gather qualitative data, design evaluations that measure learning progress to quantitatively compile data, and write reports on findings.Clerical duties may include email support, front-desk support, answering telephones, delivering messages, processing outgoing, and incoming mail and faxes, etc.Perform other duties as assigned by the program coordinator to ensure the success of the programs and services.Physical RequirementsSit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office environment.
