Position Overview Ledgent Finance & Accounting is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Government Contract Accountant / Analyst to join their client's team in Oakland, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position that offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic finance team. The role requires working onsite, and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing full cycle cost accounting processes, particularly within a nonprofit environment. Responsibilities
  • Handle the full cycle cost accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Utilize NetSuite and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Look Ups, Formulas) to perform accounting tasks.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with nonprofit management practices.
  • Analyze and understand the impact of various accounting processes, beyond just execution, to comprehend the transactional impact.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient financial operations.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, preferably with project/job cost accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting ERP systems, with specific experience in NetSuite.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Look Ups, and Formulas.
  • Experience in nonprofit management is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively, described as a workaholic by the manager.
  • Worked at a NonProfit previously with knowledge of grants and funds is required
Required Work Hours The position requires working onsite in Oakland, CA, with a work schedule of either 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling a 37.5-hour workweek. Additional Details This is a temporary-to-hire position, providing a pathway for permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
