Salary: $16.80 - $17.69 Hourly Location : City of Dubuque, IA Job Type: Temporary Job Number: 796034001-TREMP-022025 Department: Parks and Recreation (Leisure Services) Division: Recreation Opening Date: 02/03/2025 Closing Date: Continuous FLSA: Non-Exempt Bargaining Unit: NA Position Summary *Typical hours are 6 AM to 2 PM Monday - Friday. May be required to work weekend and holiday mornings.**Temporary position runs from April - October.GENERAL SUMMARY: Under supervision, landscape or maintain grounds of the golf course using hand or power tools or turf equipment performing a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: mowing, trimming, planting, watering, digging, raking; general equipment maintenance and cleaning. Repair and upkeep of the areas maintained by the golf course; and perform other duties as assigned. Job Duties

• Dispose of trash or waste materials.
• Daily operational procedures which may include changing of green hole location and moving of tee markers.
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment including but not limited to general mowers, trucksters, trimmers, etc.
• Drive light-weight turf vehicles to or at work sites.
• Assist with manual irrigation procedures including turf, trees, and ornamentals.
• Prepare landscaped beds or other areas for planting or seeding.
• Weed annual and perennial flower beds.
• Trim trees, bushes, and other vegetation.
• Removal of debris from work sites.
• Cultivate lawns, turf, or gardens.
• Plant trees and install equipment to support or protect.
• Clean facilities or sites.
• Rake sand traps, removing leaves/debris and maintain trap edges.
• Keep timecard and other records.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Operation and Control - Using equipment or systems.
• Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or display screens to make sure a machine is working.
• Control Precision - Quickly changing the controls of a machine, car or truck.
• Near and Far Vision - Seeing details up close and far away.
• Depth Perception - Deciding which thing is closer or farther away from you, or deciding how far away it is from you.

Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 16 years of age.
• At least one month of experience operating light to medium sized equipment.
• Possess a current Iowa Class C - Minor's Restricted Work License, Iowa Class C - Special Minor's Restricted License, or equivalent or higher state-issued driving license

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with golf course maintenance equipment.
• Experience golf course maintenance.
• Experience with outdoor equipment such as lawnmowers, weed eaters and chainsaws.
