Global Transaction Banking (GTB) Trade Finance Credit - First Line of Defense - VP

Responsibilities
  • Manage transactions from start to finish, including borrower ratings, transaction analysis, financial modelling, and presentation to credit committee.
  • Portfolio management of large corporate clients, including covenant monitoring, early action memos, and borrower reviews.
  • Develop understanding of the portfolio through analysis of company developments and news.
  • Identify risks and mitigants, incorporating them into financial models and documentation.
  • Oversee internal approval processes, ensuring timely completion of credit and borrower rating applications.
  • Review deal documents and synthesize key terms and conditions.
  • Develop credit recommendations with clear risk assessments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Credit Team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, or related field; advanced certifications like MBA or CFA are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in loan underwriting and portfolio management, with trade finance knowledge preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Experience with sub-investment grade clients or financial sponsors is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in corporate valuation and financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Client relationship management and sales skills.
  • Deep knowledge of trade finance products and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and build internal/external relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quick learner of new systems.
  • Strong business development and strategic planning skills.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.

Location: New York, NY

Salary Range: $150,000 - $225,000/year

Employment Type: Full-time, Mid-Senior Level
