Job Description

  • Develop and implement a strategic tax plan for the global organization. Research and evaluate and then implement high value tax strategies and other financial arrangements that align with Company business objectives, with the help of external tax advisors when necessary.
  • Participate with and advise senior management on the cash tax and financial reporting implications of certain business activities. Maintain the Company's comprehensive tax strategy and global tax footprint in a way that is most efficient and in line with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the quarterly and year-end global tax provision process, including review of provision workpapers and journal entries,
  • Provide oversight with respect to all U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance. Identify opportunities to optimize the Company's tax position and communicate to executive management on a proactive and timely basis, while still ensuring necessary accuracy of all filings. Responsible for completion of federal, international, and state income tax returns, including all related analysis and support of department staff.
  • Oversight of tax returns and transfer pricing reports for the Company's international locations. Research international tax issues and liaise/coordinate with international finance counterparts to stay abreast of global tax issues which are significant to the Company's overall tax footprint.
  • Collaborate with Treasury to ensure tax-efficient and risk-managed financing of global operations, including management of FX volatility for U.S. tax, foreign tax, and U.S. GAAP reporting purposes.
  • Manage/oversee all direct/indirect tax audits and inquiries. Serve as primary contact for audits by regulatory/government agencies.
  • Manage tax reporting, compliance, and accounting policies. Make recommendations to enhance tax operations, prepare special analyses in support of major tax initiatives, and collaboratively develop operating policies and procedures and improvement programs for the attainment of corporate tax objectives.
  • Manage sales, use, and property tax governance and compliance.
  • Manage/oversight for third party tax professionals and tax software.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Legal, Treasury, FP&A, HR, and Corporate Development to support initiatives such as M&A, entity restructuring, and intercompany arrangements.
  • Recommend proactive strategies to address evolving legislation and regulatory changes across jurisdictions, maintaining compliance while optimizing the global tax footprint. Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related field required; CPA required.
  • Master's Degree in taxation or Tax LLM degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years' corporate tax experience with a multinational corporation including a minimum of 5 years supervising department staff.
  • Big 4 public accounting background preferred.
  • Experience with international tax planning for a multinational company.
  • Hands-on knowledge of tax accounting rules under U.S. GAAP and ASC740.
  • Experience handling tax audits and related negotiations/litigation.
  • Experience researching/analyzing/working through complex foreign, federal, state and local tax issues.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent written and presentation skills coupled with strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities across different functional areas and cultures.
  • Self-starting personality; ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously; ability to work independently and make decisions.
  • Possesses the ability to work with a variety of external constituencies, including domestic and international taxing authorities and outside tax professionals.
  • Ability to keep abreast of current tax laws and impending legislations that could impact the corporation.
  • A team player with the ability and understanding of how to operate in a dynamic multi-cultural organization, multinational experience essential.
  • Ability and inclination to roll up sleeves and dig in. Dependence on and confidence in own abilities to get things done.
  • Results and success-oriented, with the ability to make decisions and to follow through on programs and policies which have been developed.
