About the Role

Join Uber's Ethics, Compliance and Security Organization as a Global Physical Security Systems (PSS) Manager. We are seeking a seasoned professional with a blend of Engineering and IT experience to spearhead our global security infrastructure initiatives. Your mission will be to implement data-driven solutions that safeguard our assets while driving business growth. This role integrates traditional physical security expertise with innovative data engineering practices to deliver comprehensive security solutions on an enterprise scale.

The Global Security team at Uber is dedicated to fostering innovation while ensuring the safety of the communities we serve, both online and physically. We proactively monitor global events and assess risks to identify potential threats, using a data-driven and risk-based approach to allocate resources and design processes effectively to secure our people and assets.

What You'll Do:

• Lead experienced global teams of System Administrators to address and resolve security system incidents and maintenance issues, ensuring the timely delivery of services to stakeholders worldwide.
• Design, implement, and manage Uber's technical security infrastructure on-premise and in the cloud, ensuring reliability, resilience, and efficiency of physical security systems globally.
• Collaborate with Global Security stakeholders, including Regional Security Managers and 24/7 Regional Security Operations Centers, to identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring top-quality service delivery.
• Utilize industry insights to enhance security systems that align with Uber's current and future needs.
• Work alongside the Data Analytics team to extract, transform, and load data from multiple security applications into centralized data warehouses.
• Implement data-driven strategies to minimize false alarms and optimize system efficiency.
• Manage vendor relationships and technology evaluation processes with a focus on achieving excellence.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in Physical Security System Design, Maintenance, and Reliability.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical and/or global teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise in automation, data engineering, and system integrations.
• Proficiency in modern software and data engineering, including programming languages such as Python and SQL; experience building data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure, including major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Linux administration, and container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise physical security technologies, including Access Control, Video Management, and Intrusion Detection systems.
• Demonstrated experience in leading a technical team and strategizing for global operations; capable of executing complex projects efficiently.
• Experience in budget management, security contracts, and vendor relationship management.
• Adept at managing multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while collaborating with teams to achieve objectives independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner effectively across functions.
• Self-motivated with a flair for visionary leadership, strategic problem solving, and driving results.
• Uphold the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
• Background in Security Operations Center (SOC) environments.
• Project management experience with security infrastructure initiatives.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements.

For this role based in Dallas, TX, the base salary range is USD$128,000 - USD$142,500 per year. For roles based in New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Washington, DC, the base salary range is USD$142,000 - USD$158,000 per year. All US location roles will be eligible for Uber's bonus program, potential equity awards, and various benefits.
