Job Description

In this role, you will serve as a firmwide resource for Global Customs & Trade matters, exposed to a wide range of issues and projects. You will utilize your experience and technical knowledge to add value to clients and manage risks related to global trade, focusing on customs and tariffs. You will be instrumental in launching and growing this practice at Baker Tilly, with opportunities to build your book and step into leadership. Import and export experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop customs and trade opportunities
  • Advise on global import/export strategies and compliance
  • Build the Customs & Trade brand in the market
  • Manage project delivery and implementation
  • Conduct technical research for client queries
  • Advise on global trade compliance and advisory needs
  • Develop strategies to manage duty costs and risks, and improve supply chain operations
  • Stay current on trade developments and develop new services
  • Assist in new business development and maintain excellent client service

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's or advanced degree preferred
  • U.S. Customs Broker License preferred
  • Practical knowledge of import/export processes and documentation
  • Approximately 8+ years of experience in public service, consulting, or advisory roles related to international trade, customs, and excise
  • Experience with U.S. Customs, BIS, OFAC, or DDTC
  • Technical knowledge of customs valuation, classification, origin, trade agreements, export controls, sanctions, etc.
  • Strong background in international trade, policy, and relations
  • Project management experience
  • Leadership ability, client service focus, and commitment to continuous learning
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is highly preferred

The compensation range is $215,950 to $409,420, influenced by skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
