Job Description
In this role, you will serve as a firmwide resource for Global Customs & Trade related matters and will be exposed to a wide range of issues and projects. You will use your experience and technical knowledge to bring value to clients and manage risks related to global trade matters with a focus on customs and tariffs. You will be a driver of growth to launch this practice for Baker Tilly, with opportunities to build a book and step into leadership. Import and export experience is required.

Responsibilities
- Identify and develop customs and trade opportunities
- Advise on import/export strategies and compliance
- Build the Customs & Trade brand
- Manage project delivery and implementation
- Research and respond to client queries on customs and excise issues
- Advise on trade compliance and global trade advisory needs
- Develop strategies to manage duty costs and risks, improve compliance, and enhance supply chain operations
- Stay current on trade developments and develop new service offerings
- Assist in new business development and maintain excellent client service
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred
- U.S. Customs Broker License preferred
- Knowledge of import/export processes, trade procedures, and documentation
- 8+ years of experience in public service, consulting, or advisory roles related to international trade, customs, and excise
- Experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, BIS, OFAC, or DTC
- Technical knowledge of valuation, classification, origin, free-trade agreements, export controls, sanctions
- Strong background in international trade, policy, and relations
- Project management experience
- Ability to lead, supervise, and provide exceptional client service
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is highly preferred
