Perform highly technical challenges and tasks. Multitask between various projects and personnel demands. Perform GIS system administration including hardware and software configuration planning, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Develop and promote standards for management of GIS system through development and documentation of technical procedures, software programs, and computer scripts. Support tribal projects through use of Mac operating systems, Arc Map and other programming languages and scripts to develop custom maps, reports, and data products. Create and edit complex databases, maps and reports using GIS and alternate computer software. Develop access procedures and provide logins, passwords, and file permissions for all users. Perform daily, monthly and special backups and administration of current data servers, archived data files, and GIS data library. Perform and supervise data entry and editing functions. Prepare for intermittent exercises and data gathering in the field, including work for all departments. Requirements Master's degree preferred; however, a Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Natural Resources, Information Systems or a related field a must. Three years demonstrated experience using and administering GIS systems (e.g., ARC Map) on Mac Parallels and related PC-based databases and applications.
