POSITION SUMMARY

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Ambulatory Care Nurse for Oncology in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care activities, emphasizing decision-making in the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, expected outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides safe, competent, and compassionate care based on NYULH standards. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans aiming for optimal outcomes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement programs.
  • Consider patient age and cultural needs in care activities.
  • Educate patients and families to promote healthy adjustment.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward expected outcomes.
  • Implement care interventions as planned.
  • Function respectfully within the healthcare team.
  • Develop and execute care plans to meet expected outcomes.
  • Adhere to standards and regulations of relevant outside agencies.
  • Provide emergency care following institutional policies.
  • Engage in quality improvement activities to enhance satisfaction among patients, families, physicians, and staff.
  • Utilize resources for professional development and meet individual learning needs.
  • Incorporate NYULH Service Standards into daily responsibilities.
  • Identify expected and adverse outcomes, customizing care accordingly.
  • Participate in clinical inquiry and evidence-based practices.
  • Serve as a resource and support for nursing staff and students.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and foster collegial relationships.
  • Analyze assessment data for diagnoses.
  • Stay informed of current evidence-based practices and research data relevant to patient care.
  • Engage in self-assessment and professional growth activities.
  • Coordinate unit activities to ensure a healing, humane, and caring environment.
  • Systematically collect and assess patient healthcare data.
  • Support the mission, philosophy, standards, and goals of the institution and nursing department.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills to fulfill responsibilities effectively.
    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Must have a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (highly preferred); a Diploma or Associate Degree requires at least one year of experience and a plan to earn a Baccalaureate. Current NY State RN licensure and BCLS certification are required. Fluency in written and spoken English is necessary. Must have physical stamina, manual dexterity, and visual and auditory acuity.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    ACLS certification, proficiency in a second language, previous oncology or critical care nursing experience, and membership in relevant professional organizations are preferred.

    The salary range for this role is $92,000 - $97,750 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, or other benefits.
