Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range $98,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yrMETER Group is seeking a Geotechnical and Civil Engineering Market Development Manager to initiate and grow our presence in the global Geotechnical, Civil, and Environmental Engineering markets. The market development manager will work closely with the research & development, marketing, and sales teams to shape all go-to-market initiatives, including market research, marketing campaigns, web content, and help develop assets to ensure we have a marketing and sales strategy and appropriate messaging to connect with customers. This role ensures that market-driven pricing aligns with overall company strategy. The market development manager will represent client requirements to the product management and research & development teams to ensure that those requirements are considered when scoping new product roadmaps. They will find, work with, and build relationships with select beta customers to begin developing information and promotional material for potential new markets and new applications within current markets. This position will also support the sales team in technical conversations during the consultative sales process and will help support existing clients. The tactical nature of this position supports the drive for market share, volume, and profit targets.This role works from our Pullman, WA office.Wage range: $98,000 - $140,000 per year. Offers will be made inside this range depending on the experience and abilities of the candidate. In addition to the salary, METER offers stellar benefits, which are listed near the bottom of this posting.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct market researchEvaluate total addressable market in target niche areasRun market tests to validate ideas on market potentialBuild customer profiles and personasFormulate plan for next steps to grow market impact and increase market shareGrow existing large customer product usageAdd more high-value customersPropose possible complementary technology (both hardware and software) to grow market shareSupport Marketing and SalesGo-to-market strategic plans and playbooksProduct and market opportunity trainingVirtual seminarsWeb page contentSocial media contentCustomer visit supportTechnical conversations with clients during the consultative sales processSupport of new client acquisitionOrganize and lead efforts to assess the need for, produce and get approval for technical documentation such as ASTM standards, technical white papers, or calibration method documentationOrganize efforts toward production of peer-reviewed or company-produced data comparison papers as sources of proof for our customersApplication support in engineering-related applicationsPartner with customer support team to provide high-level expertise to clientsRun point on ASTM Standards related to METER productsAct as internal Subject Matter Expert for engineering-related projects and applicationsRequired QualificationsMaster's degree in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering or Bachelor's degree + equivalent experienceUnsaturated soil mechanics coursework or experienceFamiliarity with ASTM standards related to geotechnical/civil/environmental engineering instrumentation and testingPreferred Qualifications5 years of experience post-graduation in a related fieldExperience in sales and marketingExperience with ASTM standards development/committee serviceWork environmentTypical office environment with computer workstation. Some travel to client sites required.Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances as needed. The high deductible plan includes an employer-funded Health Savings Account (HSA).A 24/7 telehealth solution is provided to all full-time employees, paid by METER Group.For their first year, full-time employees receive 80 hours of Paid Leave (vacation time) in a lump amount prorated to their start date. Paid Leave increases increase to 108 hours per year after one year and 140 hours per year after four years of service (prorated during the transition year).
