*GENEROUS PAY: Weekend / holiday / back up Nanny needed*Are you a nurturing, engaged nanny who wants to work only on the weekends, holidays and occasional weekdays? Loving family of 2 is offering most weekdays off in exchange for GENEROUS pay.*Important notes:** _This is not a role for someone who plans to work a second job Monday – Friday. Instead, this family is seeking an individual who has hobbies, passions, and other things (besides labor) they'd like to spend their weekdays doing._* MUST BE AN EXCELLENT DRIVER WITH A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD. Driving trial as part of the interview process.* Drug testing will be a part of the screening process for this role* This home is a NO cellphone / smart watch environment*Location:* Scotch Plains, NJ*Schedule:** 24 hours / week* Saturdays and Sundays, 7am – 7pm* 9 major holidays (which may include expenses-paid travel, and a likelihood that nanny may be needed for the 2 days before/after major holidays)* Up to an estimated 40 “fill-in” days Mon-Fri / year when family's weekday nannies are out*Length:* Long term preferred; minimum 2 year commitment*Start date:* ASAP, flexible for the right person*Pay:** $50 – $55 / hour depending on experience* _Nanny will be paid as though they work 40 hours/week, even though their set schedule on most weeks will be 24 hours/week._* _($104,000 - $114,400 annually, guaranteed + holiday and fill in days) _*Family Values:* This single parent household prioritizes the happiness and well-being of their child, and follows a child-led approach. Outside time is important in this home, and happens daily for at least a small period of time (rain or shine). This family's main priority for their child: “Have a good heart; love others; accept the world.” This family values continuity in care, and is eager to form a strong bond with a nanny in a long-term capacity. The family follows the lead of the child and allows him to experience all of life's emotions, high and low. Nanny must stay calm and collected when child is expressing age-appropriate temper tantrums; in this way, Nanny will model emotional regulation. Mom's priority is that Nanny is happy and comfortable with this approach, as she understands that this is the core of a happy household.*About the children:Child A (1.5 years old):* Charming, curious, active, healthy little boy who is climbing, walking; interested in all sorts of things and excited to explore the world. You will have access to your own personal landline for emergencies.* You are a kind, engaging nanny who truly loves what you do and is capable of providing a calm, focused presence for child.* Communication is a strength for you, and you are comfortable working with a parent who is in/out of the house and alongside you for portions of the day.* You are creative, and excited to come up with daily activities, music play, explorations and games for the child in your care.* You enjoy staying active throughout the day and are willing to ensure that child is playing and learning as they grow.* You are comfortable encouraging independence (this family leans towards the Montessori method of allowing children to learn and discover on their own sometimes).* You are known for having a can-do attitude, and can take a tough day and turn it around in a “let's make the best of it” way.*Requirements:** Vaccinations NOT required* Ability to swim required* EXCELLENT driver with clean driving record, personal vehicle for occasional use during work (Mom will provide a vehicle for nanny to use at work for the majority of the time)* Drug testing as part of role screening*Responsibilities:*_When Nanny is the primary caregiver of the child, all responsibilities will be focused around him. Mom will often be involved in childcare too, taking him to a class, or on an outing, or spending time with him at home. During the times that Nanny is NOT responsible for child (or he is sleeping), responsibilities will shift to household related._* Accompany mom on day trips (beach, hikes, etc.), weekend getaways, and airplane travel locations on holidays.* Loving and attentive care of toddler, including the meeting of all basic needs (diapering, pottying, bathing, eating, naps, etc.)* Follow schedules closely for feeding, sleeping, wake windows* Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities* Engage child in learning and exploration via books, stories, art, songs and play* Foster confidence via nurturing care* Spend time outdoors daily (playing in the yard, going on walks around the neighborhood)* Maintain organization and cleanliness of spaces you use in the home* Bring child to events locally (library, playgrounds, etc.)* Prepare meals for family* Laundry for household* Cleaning of spaces as needed (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming)* Loading/unloading of the dishwasher as needed* Taking the family dog (friendly mini-labradoodle, 40 lbs) out for a walk*Important to note: *This is a completely screen-free household. Nanny will be welcome to use the landline for emergencies, but cell phone use in the home and for non-emergencies is not permitted.
