Overview

General Manager - Licensed Cosmetologist at Madison Reed. Managers at Madison Reed's Hair Color Bars are entrepreneurial leaders who deliver exceptional business results while inspiring the team to provide quality guest services and an amazing guest experience in their Hair Color Bar every day.

The Hair Color Bar Manager will establish the roadmap of success for their Hair Color Bar within Madison Reed's operational best practices and guidelines, work with their team to solicit diverse perspectives, innovate growth through positive community relationships, and promote Madison Reed's products, services and values. The mission is threefold: guest satisfaction, business building and team development. This role reports to the District Manager, is full time and requires availability on weekends, holidays and other peak times based on business needs.

At Madison Reed, the base salary for this role ranges from 60,000-65,000, with opportunities to earn monthly bonuses. Factors affecting starting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and continue to develop leadership skills to provide a top tier employee and guest experience aligned with our values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage and Responsibility.
  • Lead by example through sales and service behaviors in all guest interactions, including resolving guest service issues.
  • Ensure staffing and resources for front of house operations, adherence to standard operating procedures, assisting guests with retail orders, managing bookings, services and memberships.
  • Demonstrate mastery of all services at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar, including stepping in and working behind the chair as needed.
  • Ability to step in for district support as needed (training new Managers, remote support, or on-site visits).
  • Achieve monthly sales goals and other KPIs, including retail sales, services, memberships.
  • Ensure Hair Color Bar meets company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and asset security.
  • Demonstrate mastery of Madison Reed systems, policies, processes and procedures.
  • Coach and develop team members to maximize team culture, guest satisfaction, and performance by aligning roles with talents and abilities.
  • Own recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, coaching, talent development and training of all team members.
  • Manage employee schedules based on forecasts and business needs in compliance with local labor laws, budgets and breaks/meals.

Qualifications

  • Active cosmetology license in the state of applying
  • 2+ years of salon and retail experience
  • 2+ years of operational management experience
  • 2+ years supervising and participating in hiring, training and scheduling
  • Strong technical proficiency as a colorist
  • Proven track record of exceeding key operational and performance metrics
  • Fluency in English
