Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and career-motivated General Manager to join the team. The GM will serve as the senior leader of a high-volume bakery manufacturing facility, taking full P&L ownership and responsibility for all operational performance. Initially focused on the plant, this role will expand to oversee additional locations as the platform grows. This is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership position requiring a strong presence on the production floor and the ability to engage with team members at every level. The GM will drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence, positioning the business for scalable growth. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of plant operations, including production, supply chain, quality, and safety.
- Manage and optimize budgets, cost structures, and KPIs to deliver strong financial and operational performance.
- Champion lean manufacturing practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital investment projects to drive efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team across operations, HR, and supply chain functions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, R&D, and technical teams to support new product launches and business expansion.
- Regularly report performance metrics and strategic initiatives to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking a proven leader who combines operational expertise with the ability to inspire teams and deliver measurable results:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing, preferably in bakery or related sectors.
- Demonstrated track record of P&L ownership, driving operational improvements, and achieving growth targets.
- Deep knowledge of food safety regulations, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
- A visible, hands-on leader who builds trust and credibility with frontline employees while maintaining strategic focus.
- Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
