General Manager - MV Transportation : Job Details

MV Transportation is seeking a dynamic General Manager who will provide support, leadership, and direction to the assigned operating location to ensure the delivery of annual business plans. He/she will control the daily operation of our transportation contract, in compliance with the policies of the contracting agency and in conformance with company procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversees the daily operations of the service by the Contractor.
• Must be available and responsive to Agency-related requests by mobile telephone, email, or text message at all times.
• Ensure the operations meet Agency objectives and standards and respond to all significant emergencies.
• Evaluate employee training curriculums every six (6) months to make appropriate changes based on changes in laws, regulations, patterns, and practices.
• Manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach programs.
• Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff.
• Communicate effectively and frequently with location staff and support team members.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance plans and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements.
• Oversee safety and training programs, plans, and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain regular client contact to meet or exceed expectations.
• Conduct periodic departmental audits.
• Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Manage all location financial metrics, report exceptions, and develop action plans to meet financial, safety, and operational expectations.
• Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Interact with the bridges committee to effectuate positive changes to policies, procedures, and programs.
• Participate in location(s) labor and employee relations activities.
• Provide insights and information to support location(s) contract renewals.
• Create and present location(s) annual budget.

Talent Requirements:

• College degree or equivalent business management experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of comprehensive experience in operations management and seven (7) years of management or supervisory experience in a transit environment with knowledge of scheduling and reservations software.
• Minimum of five years' experience in ADA paratransit operations.
• Possesses a Transit and Paratransit Management certificate (or equivalent) issued by the University of the Pacific.
• Experience in labor/union negotiations and expenses.
• Understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Office, strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high multitasking ability.
• Additional duties/responsibilities based on individual contract requirements.

Starting salary range: $126,000 - $145,000
