The General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the company's operations, from strategic planning and financial management to production oversight and team leadership. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, technical expertise, and operational excellence to ensure the company's growth, profitability, and sustained market presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel manufacturing and can lead cross-functional teams toward achieving ambitious business objectives.

Strategic Leadership and Business Development:

• Develop and execute the company's vision, mission, and strategic plan to achieve short-term and long-term goals.
• Identify new business opportunities and market trends to expand the company's reach and maintain a competitive edge.
• Drive innovation within product lines and operational processes to ensure continuous improvement and industry leadership.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and industry partners.

Operational and Production Management:

• Oversee all aspects of production, ensuring that design, engineering, and manufacturing processes meet high standards of quality and efficiency.
• Manage production schedules, resources, and supply chain logistics to optimize operational performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement process improvements and lean manufacturing techniques to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained to support safe and efficient operations.
• Develop and manage the company's financial plan (P&L), including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Monitor financial performance, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
• Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and vendors to maximize value and control costs.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to improve margins without compromising quality.

Sales and Customer Relations:

• Lead business development efforts to expand the client base and increase market share in target sectors.
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop competitive proposals and win new business.
• Maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty through exceptional service and support.
• Address customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly to uphold the company's reputation for reliability and quality.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Implement robust safety protocols and training programs to protect employees and minimize risks.
• Stay current with industry regulations and standards, adapting company policies and practices as needed.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of operations leadership experience.
• Direct responsibility for managing company financials.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or business equivalent.
• Line management as first line foreman/supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean manufacturing background.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Steel manufacturing required; (small bar, wire, long products, finished steel)
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and specifications
• Proven financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with clients, suppliers, and team members.
• You have demonstrated ability to manage and lead diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
